Lawrence developed his interest in conservation through a combination of academic study and hands on field experience, going on to complete a degree in Marine Biology with Biodiversity and Conservation at Anglia Ruskin University.
Although new to Operation Wallacea, Lawrence has worked extensively in the field across a range of international locations including Costa Rica, Thailand, Cyprus and Tenerife. These experiences have given him a strong understanding of working in remote environments and the practicalities of supporting conservation programmes on the ground.
He has a broad passion for wildlife across both marine and terrestrial ecosystems, with experience involving sea turtles, migratory birds, cetaceans and herpetofauna. This has developed into a wider interest in biodiversity and how different species interact within their ecosystems.
Lawrence has now joined Operation Wallacea as an Expedition Travel Coordinator, supporting expeditions from the planning stage through to delivery. He is looking forward to contributing to the smooth running of programmes and will also be heading out to support an expedition later in the season.
