Malawi Visa Information

The majority of participants will need to obtain a visa prior to entry into Malawi. For many nationalities, this can be done either on arrival or by applying online through the new e-visa system however it is your responsibility to check the requirements for your nationality. You can check your eligibility, requirements and also apply for an e-visa online here:

Most single-entry tourists visas cost $75, which can be paid online through the above link if applying online in advance. If you are travelling as part of a large school group (more than 15 participants) we strongly recommend you get your visa in advance online.

If you are planning to apply on entry, you must have $75 in cash with you in the correct currency (USD). Bills must be dated 2010 or younger and be not larger than a $50 note.

Anyone under the age of 18 at the time of travel will need to provide additional supporting documents at the point of visa application to prove parental permission to travel. For more information on these guidelines, please visit http://www.evisa.gov.mw/.
