Lucy Eberhardt – Madagascar 2023 #2

The second photograph features a chameleon looking sheepishly upwards. I remember that moment vividly: we watched it walk across the sandy earth in Matsedroy satellite camp, rocking its body backwards and forwards the way chamelons do to blend in with the movement of leaves, and up onto a tree – all whilst slowly changing colour.
