At the satellite site you stay in traditional forest housing within an indigenous community, with opportunities to engage with local people and perhaps even participate in village events. The accommodation here is more basic as you gain a truly immersive experience of life in the Amazon. Communal rooms are single-sex, with access to individual shower rooms with bucket-flush toilets. From this remote location on the banks of the Tahuayo River, transects head out on foot into the surrounding forest and, while the water level remains high, by auxiliary boat or canoe.
