Welcome to the Operation Wallacea expedition status page. This page is intended for updated arrival information for each site. Please note that due to timezone differences, updates to this page may be delayed by a few hours, and we cannot give specific information regarding school groups or individuals.
We advise all the parents or loved ones of our expedition attendees that it is not unusual to have no contact with participants throughout their project. Most of our sites do not have phone signal, and those that do have intermittent signal typically have activity schedules that make it difficult to find the time to call home. No news is good news, and we will always get in touch with emergency contacts if something were to happen.
The UK Office operates 24/7 contact numbers during our season, you can find the numbers on the right. Outside of UK office hours (9am – 5:30pm Monday-Friday) we would ask that people only contact us if there is an emergency, in order to help us keep the line clear.
We are sometimes able to post updates of our expeditions on our social media, visit our biodiversity messaging page to see our most recent updates on instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter
