Schools Partnerships & Sales Officer
Lincolnshire Wolds HQ (Hybrid – minimum 2/3 days in office, depending on time of year), leading our US schools market remotely from the UK, assisting with the growth of our UK market with the Schools Manager.
Full time: 9:00am – 5:30pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)
About Operation Wallacea
Operation Wallacea is an organisation that runs biological and conservation research expeditions in some of the most remote and biodiverse locations on the planet. Our programmes bring together leading academics, university students, school students and volunteers to conduct vital long-term and large-scale biodiversity research and conservation work.
To date, data from our expeditions have contributed to over 740 scientific papers, helping to identify areas requiring protection, develop conservation strategies and train the next generation of field scientists.
Our school expeditions fund the entire research programme and give students the chance to work alongside scientists on real research projects, from tropical forests to coral reefs, and for many it is the experience that shapes what they go on to study.
The Role
We are looking for a creative, self-motivated Schools Partnerships & Sales Officer to grow our school partnerships and lead our sales efforts in the USA.
You will be the bridge between our research and the teachers who bring their students on expedition. That means building and growing our teacher network, writing engaging science content, keeping our educational resources fresh and coming up with new ways to connect with schools. You will also take on country management for one of our key expedition sites and support the wider sales team.
This is not a social media management role, but creative writing is at its heart. It suits someone with a strong drive who enjoys generating ideas and is happy to run with them on their own initiative.

- Selling our school expeditions to new and existing schools, managing enquiries from first contact through to booking
- Creating, growing and looking after a network of teachers who champion our expeditions

- Booking and managing meetings with teachers and schools
- Delivering presentations to teachers, students and parents, both in person and online

US sales
- Overseeing our sales efforts in the USA, managing US school relationships, enquiries and the sales pipeline
- Helping shape our US sales strategy alongside the wider team
- Holding online meetings and presentations with US schools across time zones, with the potential for travel to the USA in the longer term
Content and resources
- Writing engaging, accurate science content for our website, brochures, newsletters and teacher materials
- Updating and developing our educational resources for schools
- Updating website content (WordPress)
- Designing and updating company materials, including presentations and reports
Country management and sales support
- Country management for one of our key expedition sites, acting as the UK point of contact and keeping site information up to date
- Supporting the sales team with administration, mass mailings (postal and email) and phone enquiries
- Managing key contacts and group booking details and keeping our CRM accurate and up to date
- Fulfilling a staff position on our summer expeditions
