The starting point for groups is the village of Lesan Dayak. Accomodation is in local houses with a mandi (bathroom) in or near the house, consisting of a traditional squat toilet and bucket style shower. Houses are shared with the local family, and other students of the same gender. Each bedroom has a mattress with a mosquito net. Staying in the Lesan Dayak village is an ideal way to get to know local people and experience how they live, as well as the Dayak culture. Meals and briefings will take place in the village hall. There is a medical clinic and some small shops throughout the village selling snacks, drinks and small souvenirs.
