After leaving the Lodge, teams head out to one of several field camps dotted around the Iwokrama forests. Many of these camps can only be accessed by river and are very remote. Accommodation will be in hammocks (sheltered under a basha - a kind of tarpaulin), there is no electricity (although we use a portable generator to charge radios and essential electrical equipment), but there are basic bucket showers using the river water. These camps provide an amazing setting in which to get to know your fellow expedition participants and to appreciate your rainforest surroundings.
