This picturesque village of around 50 households is on the edge of Natewa Bay and backed by the forested mountains of the Natewa peninsula. Volunteers stay here for a couple of nights in homestays with local Fijian families, both to learn about Fijian culture and to get over any jet lag before trekking up the mountains to the Natwes campo for the forest survey week. The Fijians are very friendly and give all the students a fantastic welcome. Accommodation is in pairs of students in lockable bedrooms with access to flush toilets and showers.
