Fort Shirley, a 16th century British fort, provides the facilities for the marine location in Dominica. Students stay in what had originally been the barracks for soldiers, and our lectures take places in the old officer's quarters. Fort Shirley is arguably Dominica most important historic monument, and so it is a real privilege to use this as the marine base. Students are based in single sex dorms, with cold water showers and flushing toilets. All meals are taken at the restaurant downhill of the fort on the waterfront of Prince Rupert's Bay.
