Expedition Credit Application

Please fill in the form below to apply for a credit on your 2020 Opwall expedition equivalent to 100% of the school payments to date minus any non-refundable flight costs.  This then protects any payments you have made and removes the need to make any final balance payments.  It allows the school to then send a letter stating why they are cancelling the expedition because of government advice without invoking the cancellation terms that would otherwise apply.

On receipt of this form, Opwall are submitting a claims under their Aviva insurance policy for a full refund of all monies paid (insurance claim must be submitted before the end of April).  If this is successful for the group, then the school will be offered a full refund or the ability to stay in the group for the 2021 expedition.

Once the insurance claim is determined and if it has failed, then the credit can be used in the following ways:

  1. The school can use the value of the credit paid by each student in the 2020 group to join a 2021 expedition or even a 2022 expedition.
  2. If some of the students are not at school by 2021 or 2022 then their portion of the credit can be used towards a research assistant or dissertation project.
  3. Any student in the 2020 expedition group will have the option of withdrawing from the 2021 or 2022 expedition and their credit value refunded from payments made by new students joining the expedition group
  4. Those students and their families who cannot wait for a full refund from the 2021 group will be offered a partial refund of the credit value based on the funds not already spent or committed by Opwall on the 2020 expedition.
